490 Walkaround

Outboard Muscle. Walkaround Control.

The 490 Walkaround is what happens when you take the trusted DNA of our 46 Walkaround, add an integral bracket, swap in quad outboards, and give it even more attitude. She’s aggressive, efficient, and shockingly capable for her size—the kind of boat that punches way above her weight.

She offers everything the serious angler demands: full walkaround access, Release-level finish, modern outboard power, and a cockpit that never quits. This is the boat for the crew that runs hard, fishes smart, and never asks for a second shot.

The 490 Walkaround was designed for owner-operators who want 360-degree fishability without giving up comfort, speed, or control. She gives you the running angles of a center console, the liveability of a sportfisher, and the look of a Release.

Born from our proven 46 walkaround hull, she delivers big-boat presence in a boat you can still run yourself, and dock without a team of deckhands. She’s for the ones who fish offshore, run long, and don’t like asking permission.

Fast. Sharp. Relentless.

Powered by quad Mercury V-10 450 Verados (or optional triple 600s), the 490 Walkaround cruises at 34 knots and tops out at 50+ knots. That’s serious speed for a boat this capable.
She rides on the same Release-designed running surface as the 46 and 55— tweaked and dialed in for outboard balance. Her sharp entry and rounded keel keep her dry and redictable. Her weight distribution makes her quick to plane and easy to trim.

The cockpit is wide open. The bow is accessible. And the helm station? It’s laid out for work—with full visibility, smart ergonomics, and the ability to stay in the game, not just on top of it.

Every Release is vacuum-infused using engineered core materials and modified epoxy. The 490 is no different. Every hull is hand-laid and hand-faired by our New Jersey crew. No offshoring. No shortcuts.
With outboards, engine room space becomes a large stateroom. And access? It doesn’t get better. Systems are clean, labeled, and laid out for real-world use. The console is custom. The hardtop is carbon. And every inch was drawn for purpose.

Spartan When You Want It. Yacht-Fit If You Need It.

Down below, she offers an optimized layout for weekend trips, overnighters, and serious tournament schedules. With sleeping accommodations for four. Galley down and a large head with a separate shower. You can keep it lean and mean or dress it up. Either way, she’s quiet, efficient, and easy to maintain. This isn’t a boat you leave docked for show. It’s one you fish, clean, and go again.

The 490 Walkaround is the future of high-performance offshore fishing—but she didn’t come out of nowhere. She carries the same DNA that made the 46 a legend. Same lines. Same fishability. Same Release grit.
You just get a few more feet, a few more knots, and a hell of a lot more options.
